I am looking at doing the same sort of thing as soon as I can get to the range.
I will be using AR2209 with 165gr Nosler partitions.
I also have 165gr Hornady SST.
I have had the Hornady SST, and the Sierra Gamechanger both blow up at close range in a 308. I think the SST and Game changer are possibly better out past 200 meters, they seem to be a bit softer in construction.

RE22 is the powder to get maximum velocity. I used that loaded to the max with 180gr Sierra Gamekings.
However these days I'm using 58gr of 2209 with a 165gr BT. I tried 59gr but extraction was sticky. according to nick harvey 58 grains should be around 2828fps
Nosler reloading recommends 57.5gr as max for 165gr BT for 2870fps in a 24" barrel.
I haven't chrono them but 58gr is enough to drop sambar at any range you can hit them.

Uncle nick likes the accubonds and 57 gn of 2209 or 61 gn of re22. Sounds good to me. If ya can’t trust uncle nick who can ya trust.....

Not sure what volume Uncle Nicks you are using but there is a big difference in some calibres and loads.
I've shot a few big sambar with the 165grain accubonds and they really penetrate well on the stags. Straight through both shoulders at 200m. 57grains should be doing about 2830-2850 or there abouts and plenty of power.

Ask him what he thinks about civilians having semi-auto rifles...

Don’t want to open that can of worms blade, this forum gets too political at the best of times.....
Just want to work up some 30-06 hunting loads

Makes sense, but you don't need to buy his book to do that.
Put some AR2206H (H4895) or AR2208 (Varget) in the case, whack a Speer Hotcore on top to keep the powder in, and go shoot some stuff

Unless you're shooting rabbits past 200m you don't need to chase sub-minute accuracy.
Unless you're shooting deer past 300m you don't need to chase velocity.

Your load advice sounds similar to a Elmer Keith story I read once about 358 win loads. Prime the case , scoop it full in the powder container and level it off with a business card . Whack a 225 gn projectiles on top, compress it all down and your done!
