Should do the opposite...

Features & Benefits
Cleans, polishes, shines and protects all metal
Especially effective on chrome, brass, bronze, copper, steel, and stainless steel

Dunno for shooting related work, but I use it on the car and it's great (steel parts, no brass).

We used it for years in the tumbler brass is stuffed long before the polish does a job on it?? IMHO

I've never used this stuff but I polish all my cases with Nevrdull and it's never had an adverse effect. Dunno if that's similar or not

Brasso contains Ammonia 5-10% and Ammonia is not really kind to Brass (Copper / Zinc Alloy).

If you continue to use it alot you will accelerate the brittleness of your cartridge cases. There are a lot better products around that do not contain Ammonia.

Just remember that Sweets is not bad at removing Copper from your Bore, Sweets contains 5% Ammonia. Ammonia has been known to cause "Stress Fracturing" in Brass Cartridge Cases, 50-60,000 psi in your cartridge case will show where the weak spots are.

I use a polishing compound from Aussiesapphire, two spoons into my tumbler with 3-400 brass and an hour later it's new. 250g goes a long way,

It was just a heads up advice. There have been plenty of people use Brasso in the past, even add it to tumbler media.

I'm just a little wary when it comes to using products that contain Ammonia. I used to use Sweets a lot until I found products like Bore-Tech and Pro-Shot that work a lot better than Sweets and contain no ammonia.

Lyman make a good Brass Polish called Turbo Brite which you add to untreated media like Corn Cob after it's been washed. Not cheap but works very well. It seems to leave a non sticky coating on brass that protects it from tarnishing and gives it a super shine. I have some cases that have been stored for a number of years done with it and they are still as shiny as the day they were polished.

I am also using the same batch of Corn Cob Media that I have had for many years. Every year or so I wash it with detergent and water in a stocking and let it dry completely then add the polish and run the tumbler until that is absorbed.

What it contains I have not found out but certainly does not smell of ammonia.
