RWS 22LR Nickel plated HV HP

Post by rossfrb » 04 Jan 2024, 4:55 pm

Anyone know how old this is?
I was told post 2000 production.
I'm presuming it's a 40GR HP without actually pulling one apart and weighing it.
Came across a few boxes of this stuff.
For a 22LR cartridge it seems to have a fair crack and some recoil.
But then again I mainly shoot subs..

I think all RWS LR ammo has 40gn bullets.
I bought RWS HVHP in 2017 as far as I can tell, silver box, brass brass. Rated at 1263fps so pretty hot stuff.

This is correct other than Z Lang which is 29gr and R Plus Long Range which is 43gr.

Thanks for that.
The packets and the rounds are in pretty good nick considering.
I subsequently did a google on RWS 22lr serial numbers (something I should have done in the first place - doh)
and found https://www.rimfirecentral.com/threads/ ... de.936905/ and https://www.rimfirecentral.com/threads/ ... s.1274622/ which both support No1
