If you want dies especially the "forming die" for 303/25 Simplex do a great vice type....normal 7/8 dies are also available. I know Western Firearms in Sydney carry both. Lyman used to do a 2 die set for that calibre as well....I do know that if your forming the cases yourself, go from 303,,,neck to 270, then to 250, it does a way better job
Have had a few over the years, 303/25 was a calibre before its time. especially with modern projectiles like the ballistic tip's.
They did all sorts of things back then to beat the ban on military calibres. 303/22 was in fact called the falcon, there was a 303/22 sprinter, which was a shortened case, 303/243's were common, along with 25's 27's and they even did a 303/375 for the top end stuff.
Most were built on No 1 mark 111 actions after the war, but some were made on M17/P14's......ive even still got a 96 Mauser that's been built on 303/25....
Funny enough if its a M17/P14 action you can reload the 303/25's up to about 257 Roberts velocities pretty safely.
The guns were built by local gunsmiths, and Sportco ...mainly because sporting firearms where so hard to get and expensive after the war....
Good to see the old calibre still gets a mention even if its a pain to get the ammo for.
