The 7mm WSM despite its relative lack of popularity would go close to being the perfect big game cartridge for me. Great ballistic profile bullets at way over 3000fps, in a shorter, stiffer and lighter action than the 7mm RM or 280 Rem. Magazine capacity of 3, hardly an issue. I've done plenty of walking up mobs of pigs and shooting them in mobs from a car too. 3 in the mag and one up the spout is enough provided you can either top off via the open breech or whack in a fresh mag. Name a long magnum that has a bigger mag capacity than three anyway.

A shorter action is a stiffer action and that's never a bad thing. It also means a little less weight and that's never a bad thing. It MIGHT perhaps bring the cost down a poofteenth as someone above suggested. If that was the case, that's never a bad thing either.

I think SOME of the short magnums are a better mousetrap. Some of course are like 90% of cartridges, duplications of an already crowded niche.

Plenty for hunting.

If anyone can tell me where there are packs of game that will stand around in groups of 10 while I empty my magazine and get them all though, I'm keen to hear it :D

Im not saying anyone needs more than 3, just saying. and the mag capacity of the WSM's and Belted mags are usually the same anyway. the whole Short Fat thing has both good and bad points depending on how you look at it
I really hope Export isn't actually Exported, mighty embarrassing for WA, hahaha I'll still drink it though

3, 4. Either is plenty.

If you need 3 follow up shots you're doing something wrong

WHEN hunting Panthera Leo.....

A REAL man will be toting his favourite SINGLE shot rifle.....

A SANE man will be slinging his side x side double in his preferred Nitro chambering.... with a couple of extra rounds in his left hand ready to drop into the chambers.... along with his PH... laterally ahead of him.. :P

Hahaha funny bunch of blokes, one shot one kill should always be the aim.

Really it's the same argument as .30-06 vs .308 which always ends up as same same but different.

So who gives a $&@!
