Hi guys,
Wanting to double check how .308 and 30-06 compare in a couple of ways after getting some strange(?) feedback from my local gun store.
I've been shooting .308 for a while which I'm ok with but to be honest it's probably at the upper limit of my recoil tolerance.
I'm considering getting a Ruger Hawkeye in 30-06, and am wondering about how it handles.
Speaking with the sales guy at my local gun store I obviously asked how recoil from the 30-06 compared to the .308. The guy said that recoil is the same, but that I would notice more muzzle rise when firing the 30-06.
To my eye (which is more on the novice end of the scale than the expert end) the 30-06 seems like a significantly bigger cartridge than .308? Not sure how you can gain more rise without more recoil?
Is his feedback sounding right?
Cheers.
