MOAR flatness!

Post by RDobber » 28 Oct 2014, 6:07 pm

To quote from another forum:

Looking for a long range gun, more of a toy, I am into distance shooting and all, currently I .300 Win Mag but the drop over 400 yards is retarded

There you have it, the 300 Win Mag no good for 400m shooting apparently.

This coming from a guy who is into "long distance shooting and all" so it must be true.

Maybe he's got a .300WM Air Rifle?

I'll sell him a 416 Barrett for $10k if he's interested or maybe he'll think it retarded beyond 500m....I have a friend who built ICBM's in Kazakhstan for the Soviets if he's got he budget I'm sure Alexi can oblige him with a decent long range weapon :)

Yep 10 grains of AR2208 will do that to a 300wm.

Or maybe call of duty on the couch has made him sad.

Gotta love internet experts.

You wanna see rainbow trajectories then have a shot of my snider..................................

Then the next big thing at the time for velocity and flat shooting- the Martini in .450/577, it must have had the pundits sneering at those poor bastards with their sniders.......

And on and on it went through time.

Mind you there were quite a few fuzzy wuzzies with surprised looks on their faces after they encountered the snider for the first time and the .577 was a red hot hunting cartridge for many years after the wildcat 450/577 came out(no one really thought the upstart wildcat would take on did they?).

Sorry, my ramblings are just a little off track(about 140 years) but could it get any worse than the 300WM comment?
