Ad on used guns- description

Post by Warrigul » 17 Nov 2014, 11:05 am

This is the description for a .303 on used guns:

Sporterized 303 made 1922 with good shootable bore and average timberwork with use marks no missing timber recoil pad to be replaced has been drilled for bridge mount scope sling a good flat shooting rifle in a bigger caliber c/w 10 shot mag. Plus post

Now I am a huge fan of the .303 but even I with my rose coloured glasses would be hard pressed to describe a .303 as flat shooting.

However if it is a Lithgow 1922 is a VERY good year to possess.

There are a few transparent boilerplate lines in the ads always.

"Sad to see it go!"

"Ready to shoot, save yourself the hassle of setting up new rifle!"

"Rare rifle/calibre combination" and it'll be a Rem 700 or something

Man I hate 303's!!1 Growing up they were like assholes everyone had one!!!!! I guess I always wanted something different and never recovered!!!!!LOL
I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake.

Maybe he threw and bullet as well for comparison.

Then it really does shoot flat!
Good news, everyone!

Or the "impossible to find" ones... Even though he has one he's selling.

Obviously not that hard as I'm looking at one

Have you seen the "Classic Calls Usedguns" thread on the AHN forum? I think you have to be a member to see it:
http://www.australianhunting.net/index. ... 03645.2160

But it is very funny. Currently the thread is up to 145pages, consisting solely about people complaining or laughing at prices requested, ugly rifles or silly claims.

yeah some funny stuff but mostly people whinging about ads for stuff they want and can't afford, a mate recently advertised two rifles there and one of them appeared in that thread "too dear" they said, sold the first day....too cheap i reckon. mate was happy, he got $250 more than a gunshop offered him on a trade in LOL

Good old usedguns. So simple, so good. I get my little fix every morning. Love it.
Now that's been said, who's coming for a shot?
