Sellier & Bellot .204 ammo cheap accuracy

Post by MalleeFarmer » 06 Feb 2016, 11:50 am

Just thought I'd share since it's the first time I've used it and my LGS owner wanted me to let him know how it goes.

I shot a 3 shot group out of an M77 hawkeye at .8moa the first shot was a flyer so I fired a 4th to make up the group. For $20 a box I was impressed it shot at least as good as superformance in this rifle but about 1" lower due to less MV. If your using this for vermin I'd highly recommend. Maybe not for the bench but it should shoot minute of fox out to decent ranges.

Yea they are the 32gr green poly tipped. I don't know if sellier and Bellot make them or source them elsewhere but at $20 I'm not fussed

My Sako 85 .204 loves the Hornady 32gr Superformance which shoots better then any reload I've tested. 6 Shots .3 moa and I've repeated those groups on more then 1 occasion. Maybe the .204 behaves similar to rimfire in that they'll group better with a particular brand of round and not others. I've still got several 50 packs in the safe as I believe they are no longer made or imported and only available in the 20 pack now. These should last me for some time as I don't shoot much .204 at the moment.

I can't speak for the .204 but as far as general feedback for Sellier & Bellot ammo goes I tried a number of there 22lr line when searching for the right ammo for my Annie and their stuff was always on the more accurate side of the scale.

I was planning to try the sellier and bellot 285gr SP in my soon to be mine 9.3x62 as they retail at a reasonable $56.00 for 20 and I've yet to see anyone stocking PPU ammo in this chambering. Given your results I reckon it's worth a shot.

Just picked up a Howa mini action in 204 ruger. Grabbed a box of Sellier and Bellot 32gr it was $22 per 20. Thats pretty cheap for 204 Ammo. Will post up how it goes. Hopefully it shoots good!
