I had a chance to test about 40 rounds of both CCI Quiet (Solid Lead at $8) and CCI Quiet (Segmented Copper at $14). Both shoot at about 710fps, are a lot quieter than 22LR subsonic rounds but louder that an air rifle. I have my Lithgow Crossover zeroed at 50m for CCI Standard ammo. I didn’t adjust it for this test. The results are as follows.
CCI Quiet Solid
15m – 19mm 5 shot group avg – 7mm low
25m – 36mm group avg – 23mm low
35m – 45mm group avg – 45mm low
45m – didn’t bother
CCI Quiet Segmented
15m – 12mm 5 shot group avg – 5mm low
25m – 16mm group avg – 5mm low
35m – 22mm group avg – 20mm low
45m – 29mm group avg – 55mm low (one bullet segment recovered from back layer of cardboard box, see pic below)
The CCI quiet segmented is a lot more accurate and has better trajectory than the CCI Quiet which was really surprising . Both types of CCI ammo seem to have a similar noise level. With CCI Standard zeroed at 50m the CCI Quiet Segmented is close to zero at 20m for my 22 .
