You might be able to find 7mm rum ammo. You might be able to find a rifle chambered for it. You might be able to find 7mm rum brass.

Try that with the other two, you'd probably be looking at special order and decent waits.

he can make his 28 nosler out of the rum brass (lot of stuffing around) and you can make the STW out of 8mm rem mag brass with just a simple neck down

if you can find it .

but I will tell you what I would (and will soon)do... just build a 7mm 300 win mag brass is easy to get and make with just a pass in the die after you get some .

Just my opinion.

Given the availability troubles mentioned above and the fact that you already have a 300 wsm in your signature I'd say there would have to be a real specific reason for the rifle.

Otherwise the all throw 165 grainers at about 2950-3100 which is ballpark what your wsm will do for 180 grainers. A bit higher BC on the 7mm though but not that much imho for actual hunting that would be worth the effort over the additional mass of the 180g.

In short.... 338 lapua

If you are looking for a fast 7mm,Wouldn't a 7mm Wby be more practical???

Basically I got 7mm rem mag that I'm going to rebarrel I'm thinking one of the the faster 7mm cartridges with a fast twist for 165-195 gr projectiles will be used for hunting and a little bit of target shooting

7rum and 28 are virtually identical performance wise
*rum would be more readily available, but still not great
*28 is slightly shorter, so less likely to give issues with coal, feeding from magazine, etc
*28 will burn a little less powder to give you almost identical performance
*28 can made from rum cases

I'm assuming you handload? If so, I would probably lean towards the 28. It may come down to your magazine, action and potential issues around coal. Savage should be fine with the 28

Correct I do hand load that's what I like about the 28 that I can seat the projectile out a little further
