G'day wrenchman,
You would have to be happy with the consistancy of elevation there? Every shot looks like meat on the table! 4064 is pretty much Varget is it not? A good versatile all round powder suitable for most 30ish calibre applications, Cheers.

I had to re-read that a few times to get it.

For a minute I thought you were saying you'd hand loaded some .270 cartridges and were trying to fire them through your 30-30 rifle.

:wtf:

Ha ha.

But yeah, promising start there.

yes it does seem to be i had been useing imr 4831 but i dont like haveing to many typs of powder sitting around and i have yet to see a load for a 3030 in 4831.
you no what makes you sick is when you work up the loads at 25 yard and 50 yards getting beat up then you go to 100 to try and get a good group and your son walks up after shooting 90 round of 556 sits down with his 300 and first shot blots the black then looks at you and says my guns on.

Great link there Oldbloke. Been trying to tell my Yank mates for ages that those powders are made here, but they just don't believe it.

Going to be tough chambering a .270 round in a .30-30.

I think you'd pick it up before getting in trouble
