Melbourne gunsmiths?

Post by Gun-nut » 18 Jul 2024, 9:23 pm

Can anyone recommend any good gunsmiths in melbourne? Looking to get the old man's 303 sorted as the scope mount is a bit buggered. Anyone had any good experiences with someone in particular they can recommend? Cheers in advance!

Bob De Vries (Kudu Services)

9 Currawong Rd, Montrose

Opens 10am, give him a bell. He should be able to sort this out for you in a heart beat.

If it's a Lee Enfield send it to T-Bone Shipwriting, nobody knows them better.

If it is a commercial mount just take it to your favourite dealer and have them send it to whoever they use, many gunsmiths only work for dealers. If it is a No4T or a No1 Low Mount or High Mount I would suggest you contact Tom at T-Bone. Personally I would save the postage and give it to Tim at Recoil, the bloke who does a fair bit of his work is an ex RAEME Armourer and whilst he spent his time on M16, M60, SLR, Remingtons, M82 and F88's he also worked on No1 HT's when we still had them. I don't know what part of the State you're in but Peter Schwarz at Bannockburn did some good work for me a few years ago, don't know if he is still going though,
