Nickel plating or bluing post 64 Winchester 94

Just wondering if anyone has first hand experience restoring a post 64 Winchester model 94.

I Have a model 94 manufactured in 1980 that I want to restore. It's in reasonably good condition but bluing is mostly worn off the receiver, and partially worn off the barrel and mag tube.

I've heard that the receivers on these post 64' are made from a sintered steel that does not take bluing well.

Would anyone like to share their experience with re-bluing these receivers?

Or has anyone ever tried to electroless nickel plate these receivers? I am quite interested in giving this a go. I find the model 94's that had nickel plated receivers from factory to be quite attractive looking guns.

If anyone has experience in either of these, I would be grateful to hear what either worked well, or did not work.
