Finding spare parts for a Remington 700

Post by Bridgy » 14 Aug 2019, 9:38 pm

Hi everyone,

I've recently picked up a 1975 Remington 700 ADL. It's complete except it's missing the buttplate. It takes the four screw, old style buttplate, like this one here: https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/88520

Does anyone know of any shops around Australia that might stock this part as a spare, or would someone here have one? I would gladly buy it if so!

I had some luck refurbishing an old 788 in the past and I'd like to repeat that with this 700!

Any help is much appreciated!

Is it possible to find a nice CDL stock to refurbish for your project?

If I found one for the right price I could definitely be tempted, but as it is this one has a very nice timber stock with monte carlo comb, so if I could hang onto it I would prefer to!

Wattle Grove gun shop up here in Qld are pretty good with old and obscure parts and do mail order. Email Bruce Bull at wattlegrove@skymesh.com.au.
The pen may be mightier than the sword, but personally I prefer the .30/30 Winchester.
