So I started with the Rust Oleum and put a few coats on. It was kinda dark grey and went on sort of thin. So I bought a can of White Knight pot belly black and gave it a fair few coats over the next couple of days with the heater running most of the time in the shed to take the chill out of the air. I’m really happy with the finished product, it went on thick and black. Just hope it hardens up well and is nice and durable, and if not, it didn’t cost me much for the experiment.

I like how it’s sort of a rough finish, almost looks like parkerising, just have to see how it stands up to use.
