Trigger upgrades howa

Post by Blr243 » 21 Oct 2020, 9:59 am

I. Made a call to a Brisbane gunsmith yesterday regarding fitting my aftermarket trigger to my marlin lever but he was rude so I thought I would giver it a lash myself , initially with bits flying everywhere I become concerrned and it had me thinking I’m going to have to pack it up and take it somewhere but with time and perseverance I got there. Just because u don’t know how it all works does not mean u can’t learn. Sometimes the best way is to persevere and at the end you Fully understand it all and you can complete the task with confidence .....now to my hact trigger on my howa ...I have a tiny cheap spring to rerplace inside ther factory trigger assembly. Has anyone here ever done that. And is it a nightmare for someone with three quarters of a brain ?

Mate if you have 2 qtr of a brain its p1ss easy. I am 99% sure there are a couple of videos on YouTube which show you how to do it.

Done a few myself... the rifle still shoots. Eddie tested

mate I cant remember the exact procedure I followed, but I removed and replaced and also gave the parts a bit of a polish, end result a crisp set style trigger with literally 0 creep and breaks under a pound. its pure enjoyment having such a light trigger, I will never have a trigger over 1lb on anything except maybe shotgun cos meh

Anyone used the Howa 1500 spring / actuator spring kit the GunBloke on eBay sells?
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Howa-1500-R ... 2772363345
They seem to get good feedback from buyers and doesn't sound too hard to fit yourself.
My Howa 1500 .308 trigger pull is far to heavy.
