Yep, that would be the way to do it.
I don't know that I've ever seen such a thing in a rifle, but if you were making some custom jump-less rifle this would be the way to do it, not just moving weight around in odd places.
You'd want something with the barrel in the centre of the rifle some sort of extended trigger system which moved the handle and trigger back/up so you were behind it, rather than under it. A lot like the back of a .50 BMG I guess...
Having said all that though, NFI how that work work in a rifle. Probably be ridiculously awkward, if not completely unusable.
