A mate of mine has only recently finished a martini 303 build,I believe he's using 2206h behind ford blue powder coated 180g cast lead pills,he reckons its pretty devastating on the stuff he's shot

07 is better than 06H, if you can get it
At what point does lack of maintenance become patina?

I would agree if talking cast.
Lead is slipperier than copper. Less friction, Lower pressure
One well placed shot is all it takes.

I got my martini back with it’s 303 lothar walther barrel . I shaped and refinished the woodwork. Very impressed with initial accuracy with 150 Speer and 2206h

Another 50 yard target. The previous pic was with 37.5 gn of 2206h , this next one is 36gn. Yeah I know I’m pulling a few shots, but with open sights I’m happy with my efforts. The rear sight is a cadet vernier (dunno why these don’t get used more, their brilliant), front sight is a ruger no1

that's high praise coming from you pete  i got a spare cadet vernier rear sight yesterday , and after experimenting with different sized washers,( with a bit of blu-tac i trialled different sizes) , i'm going to get a washer silver soldered on and blued that will make it a "ghost ring" . that with a bigger front bead should improve the irons somewhat and make for a much faster focus . the goal is to use this in "classic caliber" in the big game comps at my local range . the way it's turning out i'm more confident about using the 'ole martini in the field
