Are folding stocks legal in Victoria?
The one I’m interested in is the Samson B-TM for my Ruger 10/22. I know they’re illegal in NSW, but am I right to believe that they are all good in Vic?
The stock is at Cleavers.

Folding stocks are fine in Victoria, but might be under-length on a 10/22. Minimum length when folded has to be 750mm.

In that case I think this might be close to or under the minimum length.

Did they state what the folded length is?
It would be legal to own it, but if it makes the rifle shorter than 750mm it would be illegal to install it.

The website says the stock when it's folded is 17.5" or 445mm, so you'd need another 305mm of barrel past the forend. And the length overall with the 18.5" carbine is only 26.25" or 667mm. And the length of pull is 12.5" or 318mm - which doesn't add up. 12.5" LoP, plus an 18.5" barrel is 31" alone, plus the four inches or so from the trigger to the bolt face would be around 35" or 890mm overall length - but it's still going to fold a fair bit shorter than 750mm.
Maybe have a muzzle device pinned or welded on to gain a little length?
The standard Ruger folder is 36" with a 16.12" barrel (it does have a flash hider though).
I'd find somebody locally that can go in and measure the stock. The folded length from the trigger to the back of the hinge is what you need, then measure your rifle from trigger to muzzle and add the two. I measured my 18" Ruger American Rimfires and decided I couldn't put my folder adapters on them due to the length, on the 22" centrefires it's fine though. Just looking at a picture of it it looks like the Rimfires would be about 660mm folded.
