Need help finding replacement 1916 SMLE stock

Post by Large Seed » 31 Aug 2023, 11:14 am

G'day, I have a 1916 Lithgow smle mk.3 with volley sights that desperately needs a new stock, the action of the rifle is in great condition and it has had a new barrel put in it relatively recently so it shoots excellently for it's age, but the stock has seen the worst of the last 100 years and is falling to pieces now, I'd love to put it into a new stock so I could shoot it again but the only options available seem to be the mk.3* with deletion of the volley sights. Does anyone know of anyone or anywhere where I could get my hands on a surplus stock or even a reproduction? I'm very keen to get this rifle shooting again.
Cheers

Talk to Tom Smith at T-Bone Shipwriting and the Lee Enfield Rifle Association Australia (LERAA), somebody among them will either have something or be able to direct you toward something.

You cold also give Hatchers a ring, he bought Geoff Slee's stuff. Geoff once made me a replacement fore-end for my Metford MkII, and he had Patterns for many Enfields.
