As per heading, WHERE???? would I find out the type of wood lirhgow small arms used for their .22stocks, it`s a light wood, not coachwood

According to Lithgow it's either polymer, walnut or laminate - laminate I would assume means stained laminated pine.

Coachwood was used on Slazenger rifles.
.303 rifles in Australia used -
1913-1915 English walnut was imported from England
1915-1940 Queensland maple was used
1917-1924 Some experimenting with Coachwood
1921 some examples of walnut
1940-1955 Coachwood

Good point, I assumed he meant their current rifle.

i remember seeing 303's when i was a kid in beautiful red timber of some sort . dunno what that might be fellas ?

Maybe the Walnut is imported from Turkey, or Black Walnut from the US of A. Not sure
