Whats involved in rebarreling a CVA single shot?

Thinking of putting a 26" 444 marlin chambered barrel on a CVA 44 mag. I could just have the 44mag rechambered, but thought the upgrade could also benefit from a 4" longer barrel, 100fps more velocity for s*** and giggles. Ive never looked at one of these in the flesh, is this major engineering or a relatively easy process for a barrel maker? The yanks also chamber the CVA in 444 marlin with a 25" barrel, but getting one grey imported adds over 1k to the price. Maybe thats cheaper than the rebarre... :unknown:

Yeah mickb anything can be done with time and money  been there and done that with my 500 S&W

Like you said a long barrel CVA 44 is available states side so why not try and get Cleaver to import a long barrel model then go from there
