magazine not locking in. 22 magnum

Post by cobber » 14 Jun 2014, 11:35 am

Hi,

I have a .22 sterling magnum, the problem is the magazine wont click in properly. I took it to a local gun shop here in Melbourne, when I got it back it was ok for a short time but now it wont stay fully locked.

Any ideas please or a recommendation of a good gunsmith/repairer in Melbourne please.

I will not go back to the last repairer.

Thanks in advance.

Sterling 22Mag. Is this a steel type of magazine? how old is this?. If it is a steel mag check out the top of mag as there is a type of cut away and this tends to wear over time. You can tension the holding spring which may help but wont fix the problem. Sounds like the magazine is worn out possibly
