Saw a 22 year old woman from Finland carrying one around as a field gun

Guess that kills the excuse of it's too heavy

"cheap" is a relative term I guess.

I really like the stock, but $600 is half the price of most rifles again still :(

Just waiting for that winning lottery ticket.

Cheap as in nearly a third the price of a whiskey 3 and nearly half the new RRP ;)

I hear you.

Just saying, a half price Ferrari would be a good deal too but I still can't afford one

Just a quick note , I have noticed a few comments on the angle of the grip . I recently met the Owner of GRS and he put the angle into perspective . If you point at something with your index finger note the angle of your wrist . The stock is made deliberately to match that angle , reducing fatigue on the forearm and wrist making shooting over a longer time period less taxing on the body .
Personally I love them , I think they are comfy and something different from the 'tactical ' stuff about now . Hanging out for the GRS Bolthorn tho !

It's all what you're used to.

Going from a normal all purpose profile grip to the GRS it'll obviously feel weird to start.

A quick fondle and shouldering it in store is not the same as comfortably setting up at the bench either.

I have 2 GRS stocks.

Very happy with both. 1 is the hunter model the other is the varmint. It's awkward to use a rifle now that doesn't have one.

It's functional with out looking like a "tacticool" wannabe .

Prices have definitely been ramped up since NIOA took distribution though. I wouldn't pay the current price.

I have a Beserk stock on my t3 223 varmint, I'm that impressed I'm looking at a adjustable hunter or varmint stock on my Tikka varmint 30-06.

Would anyone consider either of these stocks on an already heavy varmint barrel rifle to walk around with?

Since this has been restarted! I'm after a GRS stock for a long range varminter build. Thinking of the sporter varmint or the hybrid. Is the Hybrid worth the extra coin?

The rear bag rider on the hybrid would make a difference if you plan to use a rear bag regularly.

That's what I was thinking but I think it's $100 or so bucks more. Dunno.

$100 extra when you're already spending a grand is worth it, if it means it suits the way you use it. No point saving 100 bucks and not ending up with the rifle that suits you purposes.

And more it costs you 5x as much to sell and rebuy the right thing after you get stick of it and do that anyway.

Well I'll be!!! $950 for the sporter varmint $1120 for the hybrid or $650ish for the berserk (polymer version of the sporter varmint) don't like the poly one but it's the price of a boyds less than the equivalent laminate. :o

good at the range but the flat but section makes it difficult to make elevation adjustments off a bipod in the field. for hunting i'd go with the sloping butt section

Chronos, do you recommend the hunter for a LR varmint rifle
