Bolt Assembly for Savage Model 3B?

Post by Beechy » 03 Oct 2013, 10:12 pm

Hi, I'm doing some part hunting for a friend of mine. He has a Savage Model 3B but it is missing the bolt assembly.... Anyone know where I could possibly find one? Research indicates that this rifle is pre-1950's....

Any info would be much appreciated...

You might try one of the antique arms collectors or auction places in VIC.

http://www.australianarmsauctions.com/ - Don't know if you can get a ledge or something before an upcoming auction, see if there is an old Savage in their you can salvage for parts.

http://www.armscollectorsguild.com/ - Not an auction place, but maybe a member could give you a hookup?

You'd be surprised, but this kind of stuff does pop up on ebay now and then.

Not quite right but as an example there is a bolt for a Savage 3D on ebay now for $1.

It's international is the problem, and shipping can is obviously problematic...

Got any family/friends in the US who can arrange some shipping for you?
What is this "too many rifles" you speak of?

Wouldn't hurt to put up a "looking for" listing on usedguns either.

Salvaging the bolt assembly from someone else is going to be your best bet I reckon...

In Australia anyway.

If we could more easily import stuff from the US where they have plenty of parts it would be 100 times easier.
