Meh... The rest of us all get by fine without jewelling so :unknown:

There is some mechanical sense to it but it's sort of solving a problem that isn't really a problem IMO.

The smoother it is the less oil it will hold. A rough surface holds more oil in the pits and crevices. Just putting a little thicker oil will give much the same result. And with time will smooth out the rough patches.
