Hi guys when a rifle is rebarreled, sometimes depending on the conversion, cartridge guides and bolt faces need to be altered.
In the case of the falling block single shot rifle, say an 1885 or a Ruger 1, apart from a rebarrel does the bolt face need modification, I assume if you were converting from say 223 to 45-70 then some modification would be necessary, is the principle the same as for a Lever or Bolt action that only cartridges with the same rim diameter are achievable with a simple re barrel?
