Hs precision stock mod for Atlasworxs bottom metal

Hi all,

I had some time on a mates milling machine yesterday and got my new Atlasworxs bottom metal fitted into my remington 700 hs precision stock. I am very happy with the results and thought i would put a few pics up if anyone else is interested. This setup now utilizes an accuracy international 5 round mag instead of the internal 4 round box mag the rifle was sold with. The Atlasworxs piece is very solid and nicely finished and i highly recommend one to any one considering a dbm modification. The most significant change made was a 5 mm deep cut to the area where the trigger end bolt goes as the atlas is that much thicker in that area.

on a side note the ai mag has a bolt stop function when the mag is empty and the bolt fully back to prevent cycling on an empty chamber. I was not aware of this feature and it had me thinking i had messed up before i googled it and found it was normal.

If you have any questions please ask, It took about 4 hours and alot of small careful cuts to get it right. I am by no means a great machinist but have used lathes and mills in my career (maintenance fitter).

Looks good mate. Eventually looking to do the same to one of my rifles.

Is the green rippling texture for grip or just cosmetic?

Nice job mate.

You wouldn't even know it's aftermarket.
