Rebarrel No 4 mk 1

Post by AusTac » 07 Mar 2016, 1:32 pm

Hey fellas,

I picked up a no 4 mk 1 a little while ago, it was a real impulse buy, but i'm happy i did it, it needs a re barrel though as its a bit worn and some spud cut off my bayonet lugs.

Just wondering if anyone has successfully had one re barrelled in Victoria and if so who did it ( if you don't mine ) i've never owned a firearm that has needed work

Cheers

G'day AusTac,
Any competent gunsmith could do your No4. I have done a few Enfields for myself and friends and find them fairly easy to do. In the north or east, Kudu Services, in the west Peter Schwarz at Bannockburn, in the south try Mialls. All of these are good gunsmiths, but as I said, any competent 'smith. Do you have a barrel? The gunshow next month will have a few, or you could ring Tbone for one of the new Lothar Walther made No4 barrels, Cheers.

Also Luke Easter of Eastec Engineering ( ProCal ) in Taralgon or Mark White of Big Island Guns as well.

Thomas at TBone can also fit the barrel as well.

They're an elusive bunch.

I think most just need their grand kids to set them up on the net

Allan Swann does a nice 303 barrel. Might want to look into that
