Recently picked up a second hand howa from a mate.
The action is old and worn, the barrel is shot out, but it has a as-new condition Boyds Thumbhole stock I'd like to salvage.
Only problem is, the stock is bedded to the action that's worn out.
Rather than pitch it, I can pick up a new action and barrel for about $570 and have a brand new Howa rifle out of the deal.
Has anyone re-bedded a stock with a different action? If I can grind out enough of the bedding for there to be a mm or two all the way round, any reason it can't just be bedded again with the new action?
Cheers.
