Milling machines

Post by Supaduke » 07 Jun 2016, 1:15 pm

I have been investigating small milling machines , such as a SIEG. I have always had an interest in machining and would like to come in on the ground floor. My Budget is strictly $1500. I was wondering if any of you gentlemen (or ladies) have experience with such devices, SIEG or otherwise. Could you recommend what to look at , what not to look at or any reference material or websites you deem worthy of looking up. Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks in advance

Yes, although not the micro milling machines. I've converted a few large hand mills to CNC using Linux EMC.
