Rechamber left-handed .223 to .300 Blackout

Post by Richard3006 » 14 Dec 2016, 1:24 pm

I'd like to purchase a .300 blackout but being ( extremely left handed ) to my knowledge there are no manufacturers producing the .300 in a left hander.

Would it be worth my while to have a left hand .223 or similar calibre rechambered in .300 blk?

I like the idea of using subsonic ammo as I've got neighbours kind off close to where I shoot.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

You can't rechamber .223 to .300BLK - you would need to bore and re-rifle the barrel.

Just load the .223 subsonic if you want.

You could probably get a left-handed Ruger American and put a .300BLK Ranch Rifle barrel on it though.

It will cost you for the new barrel and chambering/fitting. Probably in the vicinity of $800 for the whole lot, maybe up to $1000.

Do you mean the Ranch Rifle?
I think it is RH only.

It was originally right-hand only but Ruger added left hand versions of the American rifle late last year.

Yes, the American is left-handed.
But only the Ranch Rifle comes in .300BLK as far as I'm aware, and they don't have a left-handed option.
That's why I suggested getting a left-handed American, and a Ranch Rifle barrel in .300BLK and mate the two together.
