Some of you may remember that I was trying to track down parts to fix up my No5. I got the parts a while back and I had been planing to try and do as much of it as possible by myself. I've now decided however that I just lack the tools to do a proper job so I sent an email off for a quote to a local gunsmith. They got back to me and quoted $275 to fit the barrel and head space it, and $165 to shorten the barrel and cut the diameter down slightly on the end so the flash hider can fit on.
They initially quoted $275 but (I'm not sure if there was some confusion or something) added the $165 on.
Does this seem reasonable to other people? It seems rather steep to me for what would be a one, maybe two hour job.
