Post by TheGreenwolf » 19 May 2017, 8:34 pm

So I got my new rifle a ruger American rimfire looks and feels great except slightly too short... I want to add some more to the stock... Saw a couple of ideas recoil pads...and I heard about spacers but not sure where to buy the right ones What is the best way... Does anyone have any good links to sites that may have what I'm looking for? . Sorry for bad writing I'm on my phone!

If it's the Compact you can order the standard stock insert which is an inch and a quarter longer.

Is it a polymer stock or timber?
Probably try your local dealer first as NIOA may stock them.

I'd make up a filler piece to fit between the insert and the stock, or just make a new wooden insert.
I'm 6'1" and never found the Compact stock to be a problem myself.

yea i think if i need to i will add a recoil pad.

i have been away so havnt been able to play with it yet.

but i had a look tonight i think it may be how i was standing, and more of an eye relief problem, will experiment more, if i need more length it wont be by much so a recoil pad will do it.

Have a look at the limbsaver recoil pads. They're about an inch+ thicker than the factory Ruger ones.
