Remington 700 w/ Bell and Carlson Stock detachable mag?

Post by TBJ » 20 May 2017, 9:18 pm

Hi all
Im looking at purchasing a new Remington 700 SPS in .308WIN, and a Bell and Carlson sporter stock has came up at a good price so will probably get that as well as I'm not a fan of the SPS stock, only issue is I really dislike a floorplate for hunting, what do I need to do to fit a detachable magazine kit to the aftermarket stock or will it fit the same as a standard stock, also what is the best kit for the 700?
I will mainly use it for deers and occasionally targets.
thanks
Jez

I forgot to mention I would like to not have to modify the stock and also like the option of say a 3, 4 or 5 round mag not a 10 round mag as they seem to stick out too much and seem like they'd get in the way

Most DBM kits are made to fit the standard floorplate inlet. I have found they often need a bit of shimming to get them to feed correctly though. You may occasionally need to relieve the inlet slightly to get a snug fit. It should tell you if a different inlet is required.
