La101 trigger honing

Post by Mitch@Ripley » 10 Nov 2017, 8:22 pm

Hey guys, tomorrow I am looking at honing my La101 trigger for use in benchrest and silhouette (not hunting). Any advice? I have already changed the springs, I would just like to make the trigger a little lighter as well as a crisper break, a full method would be great but I have a pretty good idea already.

Oh yeah, I have a brand new "EZE-LAP" super fine (I believe it is 1200 grit, possibly 1800, I am checking now) as well as a brand new "CRAFTRIGHT" drill press vice.

Tried the spring kit from delta force tactical that makes a huge diffrence when you also polish everthing.

Fwiw Mitch, I discovered that there is an American tool that holds your trigger parts in precise alignment, for honing. I was put off by the price; over $US100. Will look it up if you are interested.

Thanks but she's all done now.

I used the drill press vice and that worked great.

Yes.

You could take it to a 'smith for that money.

What did you follow to do it in the end?

Find a good how-to on it or did you just give it a crack?
