The Rock Junior for starting rest?

Post by chicachicka » 14 Nov 2013, 7:04 am

Hi guys,

I don't really like shooting off the bipod because I find it a bit awkward to maneuver around.

I've been making do at the range with resting the rifle on a bag. Time to get something proper though with some adjustment.

Is The Rock Junior alright? I know it's only $100 and not a competition one, but as long as it won't fall apart on me it should do the job as all I really want it for is the bit of adjustment.

Thanks.

For vertical adjustment sure.

No windage adjustment though, only up/down.

If you just want a started, go for it. No point spending $500 on a competition rest if it's just for a bit of fun.

For $200 and a bit you can get one with windage adjustments though... Doesn't have to go straight to $500 for one.

Just and idea.

I've got one and it's perfectly fine.

You might not get F-Class accuracy out of it but I shoot the best groups I can do with it.

For $100 go for it.

No point learning on a $1,000 rest. You can always get something better down the road if you need that something extra...

I use one myself with a rear bag does everything I want it to do.

They are of solid construction too.

For 99% of shooters I reckon that's right.

I'd have to be shooting a hell of a lot more to buy a $600-$1,000 rest.
See you on the firing line.
