Ruger Hybrid Muzzle Brake

Ahoy,

Purchased one of these for my RPR:

Before I cop a barrage of - why do you need a brake, p**sy?

Because I've never used one before
The gun jumps vertically off-target with a bipod
Also to see if there is any truth to the brake stabilsing the bullet in flight

Now, I've never fitted a brake before, is hand tightening one of these fine?

You will need to index it, but hand tight should be sufficient in most calibers.

Just be mindful of your neighbours when at the range, sat next to a braked RPR once, muzzle blast was incredible.

On that note, just reading about it from the link to the Ruger website. It claims the brake: "Reduces noise and blast to the sides of the shooter".

Errum, what? I wonder how they figure that?

Reduces it to the side by directing it all at the shooter instead!
