If they were prone to damaging the bore, why would bench-rest shooters use them?

All I do know is the Carbon Fibre in 17cal is one bendy ****** and have had it replaced as it crapped out at the handle after the first use.

I contacted Lowey, and they don't make bore guides for centrefire rifles at this stage.
