Thought I'd follow up on this old thread.

IIRC I paid $25 + delivery.

When this knife arived i filed the tip slightly to give it a small drop point.

Ive since gutted and butchered 1 fallow and 2 sambar. IMO better than my puma pal.

I dont think you can go wrong if your starting out or like me just want one for occassional use.

One point. They don't like too much moisture, the wood swells and blade gets very tight to open. I had that issue after the buck. To get around that ive oiled near the pin with olive oil and also rubbed candle wax at the exposed end.
If it does get wet just put it aside for a few days and that fixes it.


No issue butchering the yearling the other day. And remains razer sharp providing you make regular use of a steel.

Edit: I bought the No8. 8cm blade. A good size, for me anyway.
