Belt kits for hunting, what you find useful

I probably don't qualify for 'hunting', as I'm only out for 4-5 hours max at night/twighlight. Have never needed water or food.
I have the obligatory leatherman on the belt, a couple pairs of glasses in my pants pockets.
Rather than loading everything up onto belts, bags or backpacks, I've gone with one of these multi pocket vests, https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/35604075904 ... 5083120215
It's probably not the most durable thing around, but hasn't let me down yet, and is very practical. Just put the loaded vest over whatever you're wearing. Everything you need is easy to access with zips and/or velcro on the pocket flaps so you don't lose anything.
Plenty of pockets to hold headlights, ammo wallets, spare mags, thermal spotter, spare batteries for scopes etc, whistles and calls, a folding knife, some paracord, gloves, beanie, and perhaps a small bag of home made jerky if times are quiet!
Any weight the vest contains is hardly noticable as it is comfortably supported from your entire back/shoulders, rather than on shoulder straps or hanging of your belt, dragging your pants down as others have noticed

I tried one of those for a bit. I can't recall why but I didn't find it as useful as a proper military harness. I saw it the other day so I should get it out and try it again.

I tried one of those South Africaaner chest harnesses in a mad moment, as a replacement for a small backpack. Just didn't work for me, even when I tried to force my brain to stop telling me it just was uncomfortable and hot.
On minus degrees mornings it just couldn't fit over my coat, or under it. Then in summer it cooked me. Or allow me to comfortably wear my Bushbuck bino harness.

i like this vest idea , seems like a good thing that can store essentials for stalking and hanging out around dams and gully's like i do, with the weight taken broadly over the shoulders and no backpack straps to interfere with shouldering a rifle . are the lower pockets big enough for a 500ml water bottle ? thanks for the idea , they even have them in bigger sizes ,4xl for me. actually how is the sizing compared to standard polo shirt sizing ? cheers
