Recoil pad for a No4

Post by Stoney » 29 Sep 2018, 10:18 am

G'day fella's, Would anyone know where I can get this recoil pad from in Australia? Basically you unscrew the shoulder wrecking steel? baseplate off a No4 and this go's straight on.

G'day Growler, No, only for No1 or No4 apparently. They are for sale from the likes of Amazon in the States for around $30 AUD and have really good reviews but I can't find one site willing to post to Oz. It's a bloody piece of rubber, not a firearm :unknown:

I have one virtually identical to that for my 91/30, sitting here on my desk. Got it off Ebay when I bought the rifle but have never bothered installing it. Was only about $10 I think.

https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_odkw=recoil+pad&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=recoil+pad+enfield&_sacat=0

bigrich I have owned tons of mausers, strong & accurate. But there is nothing in bolt action that compares to an Enfield for it's speed and slickness. Lever action in a bolt gun. BUT...….the stock design of an Enfield with it's rounded steel/brass buttplate in a thin stock that directs the recoil force into a 1 inch band to your shoulder is a f*ckng torture device. The Germans were way kinder to their Infantry.
