Well it is now up and running again.
I removed the two black buckets (they were too cramped, and they used to squeak on clothing)

I replaced them with an as new bench seat (ISRI Brand) out of a Mercedes van.

Had to cut 4" off the base box so the seats won't hit the gutter on the carport.
Then Mig'd it all back together and included a fully seal floor plate, and lined one side of the storage compartments with extra thick styrene foam to be used as a large storage esky.

Because the seat was originally fixed in position, I bought heavy duty roller slides and built them into it as well.
Adjustment of position is now easily done with one single lever, and is in 1" increments.

For those that expected cup holders in the original version,,,,, voila
Check these babies out.

Tried it out last night in the bush for 10 hours, and I'm pleased to say that it works very well, is comfortable, and quiet.

Edited,,,,,, I forgot to add the pics

Looking backwards in time I see that nearly all pics and features are now wildly out of date.
Will get all new pics and add explanatories.

Oh,,,,,,,,, and by the way,,, I originally named it the Taj Mahal.
But my partner has renamed it "Camilla" (the 3rd person in the relationship,,,, due to the amount of time I spend working on it.)

Sure does look the goods Ed....lots of painstaking work gone into that.....Just curious, do you park up on a bait station for the night....or a dead animal.....or just pick a spot at random and hope the dogs come wandering through.....or do you change positions through the night if it gets a bit quiet where you set up....?

On rare occasions, I just find a promising looking spot,, maybe water, maybe carcass, or well used game trail, and suck and see.

But mostly from homework done up to a fortnight prior, I know where one (or more) is most likely to visit, or pass through, even
though they rarely if ever have a timetable and appointments like foxes do.

I also rely a lot on info I can get from various cameras I setup.

A bit like fishing,,,,,, it takes patience,, method,, cunning,, and also important to closely observe all other wildlife in the vicinity.

I've also had some brilliant successes with a couple of purpose built gadgets. :silent:

Further to your question Brinny,,,,,
Most times I end up on whichever property has a dog/s causing havoc at the owners request,,, and more often than not the owner shows me which section
of the property etc that most of the damage has been done in.
So, you get to know a reasonably concise area that it/they will turn up in again. Even though sometimes a week or more later.
I've been lucky enough on five occasions so far to get an offending dog the very first night of attending.

One in particular that DID ACTUALLY HAVE A TIMETABLE,,,, and turned up within minutes of the time that the landowner said it had been attacking
sheep in previous nights.

Theres no doubt that they are an interesting critter to chase.....A lot of time can be spent in vain out in all the elements waiting for them to show.....Cant begin to count the number of nights i have sat out all night waiting for them in some of the most promising looking country where the farmer has had pretty severe issues with them...and not seen a thing....apart from the usual other critters poking about.....Other nights where iv had some pretty good successes too.....Can never pick it....but we cant get them tucked up in bed at home.....

Agreed that ya can't get them when your tucked up in bed.
As opposed to what many do,,, (just sitting out for an hour or so) I still find it amazing the stuff you see wandering/stalking
about when you are there for the entire night.
You've just gotta get through those "dead patches" when it seems that NOTHING is on the move.

Most of the landowners (that don't use cameras) are pretty shocked when you give them a report of what you've seen in their
paddocks during the night.

The common reply from them is,,,,, "I had no idea"

Wouldn't be surprised if those seats have warmers in them as well judging by the look of this rig.

Yep....have heard that so many times too Ed....
Must be a thing with us old fellas to do the all nighters....theres something about just being out there on your own....
Funny about those dead patches.....critters just seem to disappear...
You get to see some amazing sights and some not so amazing sights....
One that springs to mind is i was out after dogs this night....and i was seeing a hell of a lot of everything else but....
I was scanning some fringe where i noticed something going absolutely apeshit right on the edge of the bush, this was around 3am in the morning....and it was thrashing about like you wouldnt believe some 400m from where i was perched.....
Got the better of me so crept down for a closer look...
Turned out to be a fallow stag that had been giving an old roll of chicken wire the fencers had left there after replacing the old fence a tune up and had got his antlers tangled up in it and couldnt get away.....Man he was going off his nut....Took some footage of him and left him there and told the manager about him once it got daylight....
Had sambar and foxes walk past me so close i can damn near touch them....get half a dozen dogs howling in the bush in the dead of night in the wee small hours certainly puts a chill up the spine....

I did manage to catch up with him the next night.
Finding him come daylight was the hardest part of the whole saga,,,,,, he blended in with the undergrowth so well.
