Tophet1 Ive been tempted by the B&C but the factory HTI's are liveable, yes they have pillars so you can tighten your action right up.

Because the stocks are a bit light in construction and the forend is a bit flexy I ripped a fair amount out of the barrel channel so that its always free floated. Ive done this to both my sporter and HB.

P60 Flexovit abrasive cloth sheet from bunnings gets to the job done, buy 3 sheets as you'll find yourself doing more than 1 gun ;)

Wrapped the sheet nice and tight around a knife steel and rip away, only takes 5mins. bash the sheet cleen of the plastic and paint.

You can quicken the process even more by dragging a scarp potato peeler thru first

Cheers for that. Good idea.Looks like plenty of space and support in that forend for some two part epoxy as well.

You planning on reloading or running factory mate ?

Reloading. I have a mighty Armory F/L die coming and a Forster seater also on order.

Is that the Bell and Carlson Varmint Tactical stock you are looking at? The one where the pistol grip is a little more upright? I have used one and quite like it.

The M40 version. It's on the shortlist. B&C are now making a sporter version stock for the Mini action which can be opened up for the bull barrel with very little work, but I can't find any in au yet.

This is my mini action in the M40 B&C varmint stock. It is much stiffer than the standard stock even after I put expoxy in it, plus it just feels nicer. I got mine when they were first released but the price listed currently is more than I paid ($469) plus postage

Well I ended up ordering a Kryptek polymer injected stock as funds were tight. I needed to wrap some 16mm dowel in sandpaper to open up the forend to float the bull barrel. Shoots fine. I wil do a write up in full fairly soon.

Don't forget to order a spring from the trigger guy on ebay, 1.5lb one is really nice

Hi Bill. I bought the 2 lb spring as I have always had my triggers at 2.5 lbs. Rifle shoots great and I love the cartridge. Still looking at a B&C stock like yours ( or a MDT Chassis ). Good to hear you like the B&C.

I think he is talking about the Gunbloke. Just type Howa Trigger Spring into a popular online shopping site and he will pop up.
