Spika safe battery life?

Post by Weepy » 08 Jun 2020, 12:46 pm

A bit of a random question here.

Can anyone give me an idea how long the battery for the digital keypad/unlock last in in the Spika safes?

It's probably similar for most brands, but I have a Spika, so yeah.

G'day Weepy,
Mine have been in for almost a year, but I don't access that safe very often. I usually replace factory batteries with Duracell's when the time comes, then replace every 12 months as a matter of course, relatively cheap way to avoid ever having to get the keys to open a safe. No brand of lock should last much different to another as they are all made at the same factory in China, Cheers

I change the battery on my birthday roughly and I am in the safe about 2-3 times a week

Daylight savings time is a good reminder every year to do smoke alarm batteries - may as well add the safe batteries to the list

No one can say - batteries aren’t equally charged / discharged...I’ve put a new set of industrial batts in 3 months ago and I’m getting the warning light, before that - I had normal Duracell’s for 15 months.

I think about 2 years, going for a shoot on average every 2-3 weeks.

G'day Weepy, I have had my batteries for the last 18 months and the LCD display on the safe tells me the batteries are still full. Cheers
