They're not a bad thing for the money, you will need to take a bit off the bolt stop or there will be feed issues from the mag and in my case I needed to shorten the action screws a tad particularly the front one as it was bottoming out before it would tighten the action to the chassis.

Or in my case...errrr....never mind. It’s at gunsmiths being fixed...I’m done with aftermarket MDT.

I adore my MDT chassis, but mine was prefitted.

Hopefully yours will be ok.

Post some photos when it is on.

I think that’s key - a factory fit that’s not right is not likely to hit the for sale bench...the AF brigade are kind of on their own.
Interesting - I left reviews on MDT website and they were removed. Then they sent me a email asking for feedback - and that review was removed as well - so I emailed them asking why, and was told it didn’t meet with their guidelines hmmm.

Interesting you asked, as my Smith actually called me over today.
In a nutshell - he had to make up a smell U sleeve to go over the howa recoil lug to fill in the gaps in the chassis - to ensure contact front/back and side to side.
He had to machine the chassis block straight to get barrel to sit straight - and this was the best out of 3 supplied chassis. The sleeve is 2mm thicker on one side than the other (due to poor chassis machining) and had to be V’d in the middle. It’s quite a complex little device but slots over the lug very tightly - everything is now sitting perfectly straight and even with action screws not pinched 100% - there is zero movement. So ill see how it goes from there.

They look good for the money I reckon. Will be good to hear your opinion of it once it's all fitted up.

Considering either the Oryx or Krg Bravo myself for my Rem 700. Also liked the look of the ESS but reading all about Tassie's woes have made me think twice.

For those that have concerns re MDT - Can I suggest that if you are contemplating a purchase that you either buy a fully assembled unit that you can carefully look over and check alignments, movement etc OR take your action into a local gunshop to test fit...that way, you are not likely to encounter the dogs breakfast that I have.
