Partridge Hunting Bag??

Post by Bdassnar » 13 Aug 2020, 6:32 am

Is there such thing as a hunting bag to hold partridge or other animals of that size after I’ve caught them?

If so what should I be looking for? I found few good on this page https://simplycarry.com/ . So far I haven’t been able to find anything specific for what I’m looking for.

I think we call them "poacher's jackets" here, big cargo pouch in the lower rear of the jacket, with access from the sides. When I was a kid I carried short lengths of cord that I used to hang rabbits from my belt, but they do bleed a bit.

G'day Bdassnar,
What you are looking for is an English Game Bag, although many countries use them. They should be made of washable canvas or heavy cloth but I have seen fellow bird shooters use a cane fishing creel. Try ebay for one of these, Cheers

I just use a sugar bag or flour bag ( a bit smaller) with a bit of rope tied around the top and bottom ears, sling it over the shoulder. It's also washable.
