However that wording allows separate ammo storage in a cabinet or container as long as no guns are in the container .
No mention of another approved safe for ammo .

Yes, the actual wording of the Act. Are you pushing this argument without reading the regs yourself?
The Act requires ammunition be secured compliant with Schedule 4, the same requirements as for firearms - a safe.
You can store ammo in a locked compartment within a gun safe, as long as the compartment is fixed inside the safe - not removable.
If the compartment is not big enough to contain all your ammo - all your ammo, brass, bullets and primers - then you need to secure it in another Schedule 4 safe.

Yes it does, ammo must be secured to same level as the firearms. If you store it in a container in a safe also containing firearms, the container must not be removable from the safe.

Yes a "cabinet" could be described as a safe. Both firearms as well as ammunition must be in a safe.

The issue about "another form of security" includes where, for example, a safe cannot be bolted down to the main structure of the building. A shipping container - suitably locked can be an example and why the term "safe" is not used in the regulations. A secure vault is another example. You can choose this option when applying for your licence for the circumstances when your gun "safe" does not meet Schedule 4 requirements. Approvals for this become the Commissioner's delegate discretion.

It doesn't suggest it, it requires it. Ammo _must_ be secured as per Schedule 4.

Schedule 4 seems to describe a safe. But I may be corrected.

It can be described as a safe if it complies with Schedule 4, which states the requirements of a gun safe. As long as a separate ammo box is fixed within the safe you can store ammo in it, it must not be removable in itself, unless on it's own it is also Schedule 4 compliant - a standalone safe.

You can apply for Commissioner's approval for anything that does not conform to Schedule 4, but you would probably have to at least meet or exceed Schedule 4.
I haven't discussed anything other than the minimum requirements of Schedule 4, the minimum required to secure firearms _and_ ammo in WA.

I was referring to the quote, and as such, no it doesn't.

You've lost me completely now.
The OP has asked a question, and we have answered it pretty thoroughly already.
So what exactly are you arguing about at this point?
