Australian made knives

Post by Traditionalist » 19 Sep 2021, 4:00 pm

Can anyone recommend some quality Australian knife makers?

I'm wanting to get a few knives... hunting/butchering, skinner and bushcraft knife.

I know there's a few good ones out there and have come across some websites in the past... just can't seem to find them now.

Any recommendations?

Thanks to everyone who contributes on this board... I've learned a lot from you all (or something at least!).

There's a knife maker in Hahndorf SA.

Unfortunately the website isn't much chop but there's some great looking hand made knives on display.

Perhaps their FB page shows some work ?

Now you've got me searching the Web for Australian made knives... I think I need a few in my life

Hi Traditionalist. Have a look at Adam Parker knives in Vic. Master craftsman. If his blades don’t suit he willl be able to put you in touch with plenty of bladesmiths. He is a member of the Australian knife makers guild and runs knife making courses as well as making blades for sale.
I had the privilege of a course with him and finished up with a great Damascus blade.
Good luck

Here's a couple of "pig-stickers" I've recently finished. Hand forged from 5160, top one has 9.5" blade, convex grind. Stag antler, thru-tang handle
Bottom one has 8.5" blade, hollow ground, full tang construction with Juma Golden Dragon scales for a cool snake-skin effect. ( Looks even better in sunlight.)
